The Innovation PLAYshop is the ultimate outside the box workshop! Through it's immersive games and content, teams will learn the simple and fun process to come up with original ideas that have value. Participants will learn the 4 steps to enhance creativity and lead to next-level breakthroughs!💡🚀

How It Works:

Virtual PLAYshops are completely remote and can take place while your team is working from home. Teams of 8-100 can be accommodated. There are 3 components:

1. Group Games

Fun and interactive (improv-influenced) games that are designed to get teams to break down barriers and learn about themselves and the group at large.

2. Positive Psychology

The research behind what makes life worth living and aims to discover and promote the factors that allow individuals and groups to thrive.

3. Fun FINALES!

Interactive and FUN virtual finales that will be sure to have the team grinning from ear to ear! Think: Virtual Rock Bands, Epic Group Speeches, Dance Parties & More!

Virtual Innovation PLAYshop - Outline

(team building workshop)

Objective: How curiosity, play and (joyful) failure can enhance creativity and lead to innovative breakthroughs.

INTRO

  • Guess That Tune (Pre-Game), FOP Intro, How We’ll Learn, Aha’s Woohoo’s & Huh’s.
  • Opening Activity: Flying Pig Game/Word Assoc. What Is Innovation/Creativity?
  • BIG IDEA: All ideas come from other ideas!

STEP 1:  Positivity for Possibility

  • Content - Top 10 Positive Emotions, Gratitude/Appreciation., Benefits (broader perspective, challenges, contagion)
  • Sample Games – 5 Things!, Story Builders, Solvers
  • Discussion (Group Share) – How can you apply gratitude/appreciation more consistently and authentically on your teams?

STEP 2:  Get Curious (Find Your Sandbox)

  • Content – Defining Curiosity, Learning Curiosity: Be Humble, Eyes Open, Big Why? Find Your Sandbox!
  • Sample Games – Anybody Else? The ‘Why’ Game,
  • Discussion (Group Share) – What am I curious about at work? What are potential topics to solve/uncover? What is your ‘sandbox’

STEP 3:  Experiment/Play

  • Content – Reconnect with play! Find Ideas vs Thinking Of Ideas. S.C.A.M.P.E.R (Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to another Use, Eliminate, Rearrange)
  • Sample Games - Trifecta, Reinvention, SCAMPER Activity.
  • Discussion (Partners/Group Share) - How can you create a ‘sandbox’ environment? Apply one element of SCAMPER to your topic and get feedback.

STEP 4:  Fail (joyfully)

  • Content – Failing joyfully, 3 Myths of Failure (distortion, perception, FOF) & how we can rethink failure (no right answer, just new info, revel/play).
  • Sample Games - Nah, Failure Ovation, 21.
  • Discussion (Partners/Group Share) – What are ways you can create a culture of ‘joyful failure’ on your teams? Give an example of a likely failed SCAMPER idea and what you may learn.
