How It Works:

PLAYshops are fun, experiential & highly impactful! This FUN team building workshop can take place right in your office or at any locally scheduled event, conference, retreat, etc. All materials provided and teams of 8-200+ can be accommodated. There are 3 components to get your team laughing & connecting in ways you never though possible!

1. Group Games

Fun and interactive (improv-influenced) games that are designed to get teams to break down barriers and learn about themselves and the group at large.

2. Positive Psychology

The research behind what makes life worth living and aims to discover and promote the factors that allow individuals and groups to thrive.

3. ‘Art-ivities’

Wacky and fun art based activities to bring it all together. Dont worry….no artistic abilities necessary!

Holiday Recess PLAYshop - Outline

(team building workshop)

Objective: Have FUN, CONNECT and celebrate end of year/ holidays!

INTRO

How We’ll Learn (mindfulness, facilitation, engagement) , The FUNdamentals of Play (Rules)
Ice breakers (Shakedown, Mini-men, Thumbgrabz)

Large Group Games – High Energy PLAY! – 60 Minutes + Sample Game Sequence - Groupie RPS, Extremes/Close Far, Island Fun, 7 Things, ATC, Story Builders, What You Doing, Street Strangers/Partnesia (Medley), 3 Noses, Snapshotz, Dubbed Movie, Shapemakers (small then big), Flock Dance

‘Holiday’ Groupie RPS – Giant Rock Paper Scissors tournament in holiday theme (Reindeer, snowman, candle). Losers become the elves of the winner and follow them around and cheer the on! Award – winner of tourney!
Extremes – Close/Far – Get to know you game. Different categories and people place themselves on the spectrum and meet others in similar spots. Then movement game where people choose topics and you move further/closer depending how much it resonates. E.g City vs Nature. Sweet vs Salty. 1 Tuque vs many, Organized vs Messy ,etc. Award: Best rationale, Most unique topics
5 Tree Things –Groups of 5, same each time. High energy/positivity game! Each person goes one at a time. They get a topic and say first 5 things that come to mind. Group cheers them on no matter what (ie. 1! 2,!, 3!,etc). Al[phabetical – get through as man ppl as possible. E.g Topics are fun holiday themed (e.g 5 Awesome things about holidays, 5 Things on the Best Holiday Sweater, 5 of the Worst Gifts Ever,etc). Award: Fastest teams and best answers (voted upon). Most enthusiastic.
What You Doing? - In small groups, one person mimes out a holiday activity. Group asks what you doing? Response is anything but what they are doing. Next person has to mime that action out and repeat cycle. Award: Best miming, best suggestions.
T’was the Night (Story Builders) - Groups of 4 you build a story 1 sentence at a time along with positive reinforcement. Title of story is given prior to starting (e.g ‘The most Epic Holidays!’). Award: Most epic story!
Holiday Island Fun – Groups of 5. In small groups. On an island during the holidays on a secret mission, everyone shares 3 things they would take with them representative of who they are and share why. After everyone’s shared they get instructions to devise a plan to get off the island using ALL the objects they brought. Award: best objects/plans
Green & Red QuinTriplets –Find as many ‘festive’ things in common with your group as possible. Stranger the better. Then: Create a human collage based on discovered themes. Award – most unique, highest #. Most creative.
Holiday Shapemakers – In small groups, forming different shapes and getting as creative as possible (Circle, Diamond, Snowman, Tree, Joy, Giving, etc). Award: Best renditions, most creativity
Reindeer Flock Dance – to the tune of holiday songs, in small groups a movement based party with a rotating follow the leader. Award: Best moves, group energy.
